The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center Museum is looking for volunteers aged 14 and over who will love to support Schulz’s legacy and the “Peanuts” comic book he created. The museum’s exhibits and programming illustrate the scope of Schulz’s multifaceted career; communicate their stories, inspirations and influences; and celebrate his life and characters such as Charlie Brown and Snoopy. PETALUMA BOUNTY FARM
Try your hand at farming
Petaluma Bounty offers volunteer opportunities for anyone interested in helping out with agricultural production and learning what it means to run a non-profit community farm. Their mission is healthy food for all through collaboration, education and the promotion of autonomy. Volunteer activities include helping with harvesting produce, weeding, planting, and specialized activities such as preparing produce for the farmers market. Hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 am to noon; Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. All ages, but small children must be accompanied by an adult. CERES COMMUNITY PROJECT
Join the Santa Rosa Dining Team
The Ceres Community Project needs adult volunteers to help prepare and distribute meals in Santa Rosa. The non-profit organization distributes healthy meals to people with serious illnesses, including cancer. Its three program sites serve Sonoma and Marin counties. People who can help with meal preparation and cooking, as well as bagging or wrapping, are needed. Meal prep shifts are 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays or Fridays, while the bagging and wrapping shift is from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Fridays. Are you looking for a way to support the elderly? Social Call volunteers are matched with an adult aged 60 or over for weekly friendly visits. As a Social Call volunteer, you will provide support and friendship, contacting the same senior once a week by phone or video conference.
